Atturi Salesjani held their third production for this Theatrical Season by presenting a three act comedy – IT-TLIET ANGLI (My Three Angels) written by Albert Husson and translated into Maltese by Frank Ganado. This comedy took place at the Salesian Theatre on Saturday 28th February at 7.30p.m and Sunday 1st March 2009 at 6.30pm. In one of the islands of Papua – New Guinea, an ex French colony, we encounter some French citizens who settled comfortably in the peaceful environment. However the island was also occupied by convicts who roamed freely around. Most of the jobs were effectively carried out by the chosen and friendly prisoners. Felix and Emily Dulay, together with their lovely daughter Marie Louise ran a general store on behalf of Gaston Lemare who was known to be a selfish, arrogant and a very demanding owner. One fine day, the owner turned up unexpectedly to check the books and ensure that there was no embezzlement taking place! He intended to pass the business to his nephew if he discovered any irregularities. On the other hand, Felix who ran the shop was a very kind hearted person and he often did not charge for the goods to those who were in dire need. How could he then balance the books and explain the situation to Lemare? Felix finds himself in a frantic situation. Three prisoners (The Three Angels), who were carrying out various tasks within the complex, realized the precarious situation that Felix found himself in. Consequently, they immediately decide to come to his rescue and mount various ingenious and comical plans so that Lemare would not have any justification to pass the shop and the business to his nephew. The cast included Fr. Eric Cachia, Paul Vella and Leonard Falzon as the Three Angels together with Rita Camilleri, John Schembri, Alfred Borg, James Spiteri, Nadine Borg, Margaret Buhagiar and Gianluca Maresca. Joe Bonello directed the comedy. It was truly a three-hour long opportunity of laughter!
