Joining faithful around the island a number of members of Salesian realities took part in the various activities prepared for the Pope’s Visit on the 17th and 18th of April, in particular the mass on the Granaries and the Youth Encounter at the Valetta Waterfront. A group from HDS made a hike during the night to the granaries. The Salesian community in Malta also joined other priests and laity for the mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI.
Following the mass on the Granaries the youth present followed the WYD Cross and Icon which has been in pilgrimage around Malta. Accompanying the Cross and Icon were the Salesian Brigade which was present with 52 members and band. At the Waterfront all Salesian youth gathered together joining the rest of the crowd cheering and welcoming the pontiff.
BoscoCrew, a Salesian audio visual initative, was commissioned by KDZ to film a documentary on the Pope’s Visit, as well as, being recognised as a production house with the accreditation for the press.
