Please leave the weekend of the 28th and 29th November 2009 free for a sleep-over at Selmun Barracks, Mellieha.
We will leave on Saturday early morning at 0700h and come back on Sunday approximately at 1700h. We will not sleep under tents but we will utilize the old abandoned barracks (safe area). We are also seeking permission from the Police and Mellieha Local Council.
The programme will include cleaning and preparation of sleeping quarters, group cooking, survival skills, trekking and map reading, first aid, campcraft, campfire, reflection and holy mass. Obviously common sense and loads and loads of fun.
SB Members must be 12 years of age and over. All participants including seniors must kindly fill in indemnity/medical form attached by Friday 20th November 2009.
Equipment, clothing is as per winter outdoors, obviously expecting cold weather. More details to follow re- equipment. Sleepover fee will be announced on Friday.
IMPORTANT! Meeting re-sleep-over this Friday 13th November 2009 at 1900h at SB HQ. Attention Adventure team, get prepared with a list of equipment to be distributed and get lots of ideas!
May I also remind you that we are planning a full Winter Camp under canvas on 28 to 30th December 2009 or 27 to 29th December 2009? Dates subject to discussion. Campsite and programme is still undecided.
Whilst thanking everybody for the enthusiasm shown lately, I am inviting all members to ATTEND REGULARLY for Friday meeting and start preparing a challenging Centenary Programme for the SB.
